REAL WAYS TO MAKE MONEY AS A STUDENT 2022
I'm finally getting down to business today!! I'm overjoyed! In today's post, I'll show you 15+ Innovative and Brilliant Ways to Earn Money as a Student!
Many people ask me how to generate money as a teen or in college, and the answer is simple. All we have to do now is be inventive.
This isn't just going to be a list of employment ideas; I'll explain them and give you some suggestions for getting started.
Please contact me through comment, contact form, or email if you have any questions regarding any of the jobs or ideas. I'll answer all of your questions!
Let's start with the most basic and work our way up to more innovative concepts!
1. Babysitting
Babysitting is the first thing that comes to mind.
As a student, there are a variety of options for earning money.
Yes, this is the most basic one you'll probably read about all the time, but I feel compelled to include it!
It was mostly how I generated money as an adolescent. I went to a babysitter training and received a first-aid certificate as well. As a result, I was able to earn extra money!
Parents will feel much secure knowing that you are watching out for their children if you know what to do in an emergency. At the very least, in Switzerland (where I am from), I was paid more for it (my pay raised by ten percent simply because I held the qualification).Of course, Swiss wages are higher, but perhaps something similar exists in your nation as well.)
Where to look for it: If you completed a training, the organisation will almost certainly recommend you to parents who inquire about certified babysitters. If you don't have that option, you can create ads and newsletters with your contact information to distribute in your neighbourhood, town, or city.
How much you make is entirely dependent on the pay rules in your nation, your age, and your experience working with children.
When I was 15, I was paid 10.- per hour (only look at the rise, not the amount, because that varies with currencies). I scored 15.- with 16, and when I finished the course and I earned 25.- per hour!!
2. Tutoring.
Ways to get money as a student tutoring
Tutoring is also a good option for students to earn money because it takes place within their school, making it easy to locate people to tutor.
This one appeals to me because it allows international students to study abroad. As an international student on a visa, there are several restrictions on how you can earn money, but this isn't one of them! To avoid getting in trouble with the authorities, please verify with your school first!
Please let me know in the comments if you'd like a separate post on how to make money while studying abroad (a very complex topic, by the way).
You can tutor others in any subject that you excel at, making this an extremely versatile employment.
Where to look for it: That's quite obvious; it's at your school! You can join up for apps and websites, enter your information and pay rate, and contact students or have students contact you. I still prefer the local route, but it's all up to you!
How much you make depends on your education and experience as an instructor, but I'd say between $5 and $15 per hour in general.
3. Organizing the event
Why not volunteer to plan events if you enjoy them? You could organise children's birthday parties! You can create a website to organise events, which you can then use as a portfolio and a means for parents to contact you.
You don't need a nice blog for those things. You can simply utilise a website builder, such as wix.com, to establish a website, which is what I do for the services I provide. But I'll get to that later.
4. Online Surveys.
Ways to get money as a student internet surveys
This, my friends, is my jam!!
I enjoy figuring out new ways to make money as a student. Taking online surveys is a great method for busy students to earn money, even if it isn't a lot of money.
I've taken a lot of surveys myself. I began at the age of 14, which is the minimum age required to participate in surveys, and continued until I was about 17 years old. However, by that time, I was primarily using my survey accounts for other purposes. I'll get to that right now.
How it works: You sign up for a survey site and earn points for completing surveys. You can then exchange your points for gift cards or cash (mostly through PayPal, but some do transfers too)
To be honest, there are a lot of shady companies out there that pay like 10 cents for a 20-minute survey but never pay you because the minimum payout is like $50. But, thankfully, I was able to filter through all of them and come up with three fantastic platforms where you can easily make money as a student!
Swagbucks.com is my preferred international survey and cashback website! You may earn rewards by shopping on their website in addition to taking surveys. It's a simple side job that's ideal for busy students.
YouGov: YouGov is another survey site that I frequently used. YouGov is only available in a few countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
Entscheiderclub: Unfortunately, this site is only available in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, but it is one of my favourites. They pay substantially, with surveys ranging from $0.50 to $10 and $1 for each person you refer! I had a lot of fun sending it to all of my friends, and we both made some money!
You can earn points for referrals whether you have a YouTube channel, a website, or just a lot of friends! I previously had a video about generating money go viral (in German, of course), and I'm still getting sign-ups two years later!
Affiliate marketing is the practise of referring customers to products or services that you already utilise.
Getting money from other people Signing up for anything or purchasing something through a referral is a fantastic method to generate a nice monthly income.
Other programmes that provide those referrals include:
ShareASale is a service that allows you to share a (they have many shops within their programme that you can promote on your social media or your friends)
A-win situation (another programme like ShareASale)
5. Take pictures of your graduation (Photography)
You're a photographer, right? Create a portfolio (ask your friends for a free photoshoot in exchange for you using the photos!) I always include a link to it whenever their senior photographs or Christmas card pictures are mentioned.
If you don't like photography or don't have a good eye for it (which many people don't, and that's fine! ), get creative! Figure out what you're good at and pitch in!
Where to look for it: This time, instead of looking for a job, you sell your services and create a demand for them!
You may achieve this by using an Instagram account as a portfolio and turning it into a company, or by using a website builder to create a professional portfolio for a low cost (again, I recommend wix.com!).
What you can earn is determined by who you photograph and how good your photographs are/how much experience you have. When students pay for their senior portraits alone, they sometimes do not have hundreds of dollars to spend. So there's no way you can charge too much! (Of course, you CAN do that.) However, you'll need to discover the sweet spot in the middle where you'll get the most bookings).
Starting with $20-$50 each 1-hour session is a good place to start. It's entirely up to you how many photos you include in the package.
6. Simple Office Jobs.
Check with your parents to see if they have any assignments for you. You may assist them in organising or cleaning their office, or you could run errands that they don't like to run. It's a nice method to relieve them of some labour while also receiving some cash.
However, because every parent is different, it is entirely up to your parents to provide you with further financial support. My parents appreciated giving us things to perform since it taught us how to manage money and it relieved them of some of their responsibilities!
7. Makeup artist
There are always events where folks require cosmetics! Homecoming, Prom, Graduation, and other events are ideal opportunities to provide makeup artist services.
Where to look for it: How about putting a small notice on the bulletin board at your school? However, you might want to check with the director or another authority first. You can also use Instagram to share your concept or develop a different website for it.
How much you can make: I haven't tried this one yet, but I'd recommend starting small and seeing how people react! You can try to boost your prices if you're in high demand! To begin, I'd say start with $20 for a basic, not too fancy makeup.
8. Get rid of your old clothes and other belongings.
We have so much stuff that we don't even utilise, girls! Isn't it possible to make some money by getting rid of them? You may sell clothes, books, and other items on a variety of internet venues.
All you have to do now is take some nice photos, create a description, and set a fair pricing.
Look for it in the following places: Nowadays, selling your belongings is a breeze! When I sold my stuff, I always utilised Ebay (now, I live with my favourite things and aim to have as few objects in my room as possible that I'm comfortable with). You can also sell on Facebook and Instagram.
How much you can earn is all dependent on your attire, quantity, and other factors. I can't advise you on how much to charge, but consider how much you paid for it and how long you've had it.
Also, think about how good it looks in terms of quality. However, choose a price that is lower than the original. Finally, keep in mind any fees you may incur when selling your items on some platforms.

9. Make and sell a variety of cakes.
This is a lot of fun! That was something I used to do with my siblings when I was a kid or a teenager. We created a couple different cakes and sold them from our own tiny booth along the street in the neighbourhood. (By the way, we made $50!)
If you don't live in your neighbourhood, you might offer to bring baked goodies to graduation parties in exchange for a little fee (discuss this first to avoid misunderstandings!)
10. Offer Handmade Crafts for Sale
Although similar to the preceding concept, it is vastly different!
You can sell almost anything. You can sell whatever you enjoy making!
Making your own soap bars, makeup goods (I once produced lipsticks for a class project, and mums bought them from me during my presentation!! ), or paintings is a great way to express yourself.
Where to sell: Start in your area, promote it on Facebook and Instagram, and if it sells well and you're serious about your business (yep, it's your first!!!!! woohoo!! ), open an internet shop. You may make one with a variety of platforms, including Jimdo, Simplesite, Wix, and Shopify.
11. Bake And Sell Bread.
To be honest, this is by far my fave at the moment. We have so much delicious bread in Europe, but it's so difficult to locate ACTUAL, REAL, GOOD bread in the United States!
So, how about you start, and I'll purchase my bread from you every day while I'm in town for college, all right? Deal!
12. Handmade Gifts for Sale.
You can now sell anything you've previously manufactured, baked, or made as a gift! Wrap it up, add a few dollars to the price, and you're good to go!
People enjoy purchasing gifts in a simple manner. It takes them a long time to figure out what to offer their family and friends for Christmas, just like it takes them a long time to buy the correct items. You'll have everything ready for them!
Your mission is to help them with their issues. That's how you'll generate revenue.
13. Create a Youtube Channel create a youtube channel.
Have you ever considered launching a YouTube channel? Same! And I've completed the task. I didn't go insane, and neither did my subscriber count, but I did make a few hundred dollars from my views.
It's a great method to make money as a student if you can be focused, consistent, and relevant with your channel!
How to accomplish it: Create an account, choose a nice name (I know, it's easier said than done), and don't submit your URL name yet; once you do, you won't be able to alter it if you change your account name!
After that, you'll need to make decent, relevant videos, include tags and keywords in the description, and post fresh films on a regular basis.
You can apply for Google Adsense once you've reached 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of viewing time in the last 12 months.
If you are under the age of 18, you can easily add a guardian's details and continue to be paid until you reach the age of 18, at which point you can simply update the information to your own.
Let me know in the comments if you'd like me to publish a second and more extensive post about how to make money with YouTube.
14. Provide online classes.
Why not offer your knowledge in the form of an online course if you're truly good at something?
Whether it's photography skills, how you grew your Youtube channel or Instagram account, how to keep your plants alive, or anything else you believe people need to know, you may share it here.
Selling online courses is a fantastic method to begin generating passive income. After you've finished developing it, all that's left is to advertise it and get it out there.
How to accomplish it: There are online course building sites just like there are online shop builder sites! I purchased numerous online courses, such as Pinterest Course and Affiliate Marketing course. I really liked how the courses were set up and looked. This is so professional! By the way, I highly suggest both of the courses!!
These are the platforms that I've seen used to create online courses by others. I'm already a big fan of Teachable and can't wait to utilise it for my first online course!
15. E-book
Writing an ebook isn't always thought of as something young people can do, but it's actually one of the finest methods for students to generate money!
How to advertise it: Once you've finished writing, designing, and everything else, it's time to promote it.
You can sell it on Amazon and/or through your own social network, blog, or online store.
You'll need a website to sell a digital product on your own because terms and conditions and privacy policy pages are required by law as soon as you make money with your product or website in general!
16. Set up a blog.
Ways to get money as a student include blogging.
Finally, we've arrived to my favourite idea: starting a money-making blog!!
I can't even begin to enumerate all of the benefits of starting a business at a young age. You can write about whatever you're passionate about and tell the world about it! But first, let's talk about how to make money with it.
A brief explanation of how it works
To begin, you can make money by adding advertisements on your website. The more visitors you have, the more money you will make.
Affiliate links are another option. You can earn a little commission for referring other people's products and services, just like I do when I link to products in my posts to recommend something!
Some are unpaid, while others are compensated. But it is for this reason that the blog continues to exist, so thank you.
But first, let's go back to business. Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective ways to monetise your blog since it allows you to talk about the things you enjoy while still earning money.
This was my list of 15+ ways to get money while a student! I know it's extremely long, but if you've made it this far, you're the best!! If you've made it this far, please leave a comment below saying "Go Bloggers!"
I hope I was able to provide you with some innovative ideas for earning money while still a student.
